Check-ins
A check-in is you saying “I’m here”: a moment, with a place and maybe a note. It keeps the short stops your phone doesn’t notice.
Checking in now
Tap Check in in the bar at the bottom of the screen. Huginn finds where you are, then offers the places you’ve named nearby and what Apple knows around you. Pick one or type a name, add a note if you like, and tap Check in.
Where it shows up
A check-in lands in whatever the day was doing at that moment:
- In a stay, it’s listed under the stay. Three shops in a shopping centre show as the centre, with the shops beneath it.
- A stay with a check-in shows the check-in’s mark. If the stay had no name, it takes the check-in’s name, for that stay only. Huginn may suggest naming the place after it, but never does so by itself.
- In a trip, it splits the trip where it lands: walk, coffee, walk. Underneath, it’s still one trip, with one distance.
After the fact
Any stay can become a check-in: hold it and choose This was a check-in. A stop in the middle of a walk is two steps: add the stop, then make it a check-in.
Changing one
Tap a check-in to open it: change its name or note, move it to another time on the same day, or Delete this check-in.
