Getting started
Huginn keeps a timeline of your days: where you stayed, and how you got from one place to the next. Here’s how to get it, and what it needs from you to start.
Get it
Huginn is for iPhone, and needs iOS 26 or later. It’s in testing now, and opens on TestFlight in November 2026. This page will say how to join when it does.
Location: Always
Huginn needs to know where you are when it isn’t open, or it can’t notice that you arrived somewhere. That’s what Always means. Your timeline stays on your phone either way.
iOS asks for While Using the App first, and offers the step up to Always on its own schedule, sometimes a day or two later. To give it straight away, open Settings → Apps → Huginn → Location and choose Always. Until then, Huginn says it isn’t recording yet, with a button that takes you there.
Motion & Fitness
Huginn also asks to read your phone’s motion history. That’s how it tells a walk from a drive, and how far you walked. Your iPhone keeps that history anyway, for about seven days, whether Huginn is running or not, so reading it costs no battery.
The first day
Huginn starts when you install it. It has nothing from before that day, and doesn’t pretend to.
Stays appear when you arrive somewhere or leave. The first few hours can look thin; by the evening, the day should read the way you lived it. If something is missing or wrong, correct it: that also teaches Huginn for next time.
If something looks wrong
Known limits lists what Huginn gets wrong today, and what to do about each. If that doesn’t help, write to hello@mymuninn.app. I read every email myself.
